The initials HVAC stand for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. They describe the functions of an HVAC system. This mechanical system’s design is primarily an attempt to take control of the environmental conditions inside Hospital.
An HVAC system is designed to control the environment in which it works.
It achieves this by controlling the temperature of a room through heating and cooling. It also controls the humidity level in that environment by controlling the movement and distribution of air inside the room.
The system also ensures cleanliness of air inside the said environment.
Laminar Air Flow System
Laminar flow is defined as airflow in which the entire body of air moves with steady, uniform velocity along parallel flow lines with a minimum of eddies.
The supply of air to an operating room should have four main functions;
To control the temperature andn humidity of the space.
To assist in the removal andn dilution of waste anesthetic gases.
To dilute airborne bacterialn contamination To control the movement of airn within the department, such that the transfer of airborne bacteria from clean to sterile areas is minimized.
HEPA filters having efficiency 99.97% down to 0.3 microns.
Filter Media: The filter media is made of micro glass fiber media for achieving the required air purification & bacterial growth prevention capacity.
Filter Frame Material: The filter frame is made from Extruded Anodized Aluminium.
Filter Sealing Adhesive: A special grade of PU adhesive is used to form a firm non leaking bond between the filter media & the filter frame material so that there is no bypass of air between the filter frame and filter media.
Aluminium Powder-coated Perforated Grills:
Powder-coated perforated grills made from 18 G prime aluminium sheets are provided over the HEPA Filters face to prevent any damage to the filter face.
